Egyptian Barhi harvested at the Khalal stage — yellow, firm, crunchy, roughly 40–60% moisture. 7–14 day shelf life, air freight within 72 hours of harvest, packed 3 or 5 kg paper-lined cartons. The Rutab stage (semi-soft amber) ships by reefer for processing buyers. Egypt is the only origin supplying fresh Khalal Barhi to international trade at commercial scale.
